We are excited to announce that Colton Richard has rejoined WestWater Research as an Associate in our Fort Collins, Colorado office. Colton’s return marks a full-circle moment—he first joined our team in 2019 as a Summer Associate during his graduate studies at the University of Colorado, where he earned his M.B.A. from the Leeds School of Business along with degrees in Finance, Water Resources, Economics, and Environmental Studies.
Following his time with WestWater, Colton spent six years as a financial consultant at FCS specializing in municipal water, wastewater, and stormwater utilities. He focused on developing sustainable financial strategies, cost-of-service analyses, water resource fees, and conservation-based water rates for clients throughout the Western United States. This experience has given him valuable insight into the operational and financial challenges facing water utilities—perspective that strengthens our team’s ability to serve clients navigating complex water rights and resource planning decisions.
Beyond his professional expertise, Colton brings a genuine passion for environmental stewardship. When he’s not working, you’ll find him fishing, camping, gardening, or volunteering to clean up local watersheds. His commitment to both the financial sustainability of water utilities and the health of water resources themselves makes him an ideal fit for WestWater’s mission.
Please join us in welcoming Colton back to the team!
